Bruce and are not tech savvy! Just common local folks! Sometimes having
trouble with our laptop, digital cameras, and yes.. phones! However,
social media is an important tool we use in our local moving business.
Accessible by the simplest of phones! We are continuously out and about
in the community supporting local business and connecting with other
local people when possible. Here is a short article on how we at Local
Guys Moving use Twitter in our local business! Please know, Bruce and I
are here if we can help on a more basic simple way of understanding how
powerful Twitter can be! We think you might find this useful when trying
to understand how to use Twitter to your advantage! And importantly,
having fun with it! We are constantly posting what we are doing on
Twitter using keywords in our tweets that people might be searching for,
like searching at Google! You always hear everyone say, "Why do i want
to tweet about where I am?" This is EXACTLY why we tweet about where we
are! Bruce and I find ourselves all over town in the local community
where we work, eat and support others local people and businesses! And
those are the exact people we want to connect with! Here in Asheville,
Hendersonville and throughout Western North Carolina, we find that local
people and local business like to support other local people and local
businesses. For example, a horse lover may buy from and support other
people who are horse lovers. Twitter can, and IS being used as a tool to
connect like-minded people and businesses in our local community. Here
is a Tweet that i find is filled with excellent keywords about my
business, where I'm working, AND bragging about a local business I
support and the good food i enjoy there! Also with a sense of humor
hinting about the style restaurant and the food they cook. Where someone
searching would find that style restaurant. Also saying a little about
what kind of person i might be by some of things I enjoy. Also giving me
referrals and connecting with other people in that community for future
business. The sample Tweet is as follows: ~ Asheville Movers love
#moving in Weaverville! Support Granny's Kitchen near downtown!
#breakfast #BrownGravy #SweetTea #avleat ~ Using keywords tagging
where were at in the community working and supporting other local
businesses. We also post pictures! For example, a close of picture of
steam rising from brown gravy dripping over those mouth-watering
Granny-made biscuits or a picture of a cold sweaty glass of sweet tea.
We post our pictures thru twitpic.com
associated with Twitter. There are many websites to post pictures and
link up with Twitter. AND those pictures appear at Google and can be
viewed or found by clicking on Images. It is very important to me that I
use keywords associated with my business and who I'm connecting with
that day locally in the community.. bragging about THEM. We like to see
other people bragging about others! This makes them feel good about
themselves and what they are doing. Bruce's theory: GIVERS GAIN!
Remember, with Twitter, its about using keywords in your tweets that you
think people may be searching for in someone elses conversation. And to
ultimately connect with that person based on your common interests. I
use Twitter as a search tool to connect with like-minded people talking
about things I'm interested in. For example #moving, dogs AND connecting
with local people and businesses in the community we work, live in, AND
spend our money in. As in the 'Tweet' above, whether its work related
keywords like "asheville, movers, #moving Weaverville" Or dining related
local keywords like "Granny's, Kitchen, #breakfast Weaverville,
#avleat" Or being little humorous by using keywords like "#BrownGravy
and #SweetTea. The # sign is called a hash tag, used in searches like
#avleat Which is common when posting a 'tweet' or comment about a tasty
plate at a favorite restaurant! Used by customers of that restaurant,
the business owners itself, AND most importantly, by someone searching
for your type business! #hashtags are not just for restaurants, I use
#moving because I think it is searched often and directly related to my
business. Some people use #hashtags in all their tweets for keeping
track of THEIR tweets, or for use with an auto-mated tweet service like hootsuite.com.
There are also pay sites for re-tweeting automatically on a time
schedule or other peoples tweets based on words they use, like #avleat
Don't forget someone somewhere is on Twitter searching for what YOUR
tweeting about! Your tweets can and should be business related, hobby
related things like pets, biking or hiking, OR humorous thoughts, ideas
and beliefs that you want to share with others! Twitter for business, is
about connecting with like-minded people and getting those people to
share and familiarize themselves and others with YOU, YOUR business and
YOUR thoughts and ideas! There are many different ways of using Twitter
as a tool for YOUR business. Bruce and I suggest just jumping on, and
jumping in! You will find someone to connect with AND learn from. There
are useful ways and ideas that come naturally to you the more you use it
and the more you discover how and who you are connecting with! Its
about getting the attention of others and using keywords! Ultimately
connecting you and your business with others!
Tweet! Tweet!
